PRIF Management Committee approves new technical assistance
The PRIF Management Committee (PMC) convened on 26 February 2026, where members approved a new project proposal to undertake an Analysis of IPPs and PPAs. This work aims to support the accelerated energy transition in the Pacific, including the development of PPA templates specifically tailored to Pacific contexts.

The Committee also reviewed ongoing PQIP socialization efforts across Pacific Island countries—including Tuvalu, Palau, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI)—and noted continued progress under the National Infrastructure Investment Plans (NIIP) Program, including advancements in the capacity development plan.
The PMC was pleased to welcome its new Chair, Yuko Tanaka, Deputy Director‑General for Southeast Asia and the Pacific at JICA, who successfully led her first meeting in Suva, Fiji on 26 February 2026. The Committee also welcomed Azusa Sato, Regional Director, SPSO, ADB, Fiji.
