This Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Strategy applies across all work undertaken by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). It strengthens gender equality and women’s empowerment as a priority across Australia’s foreign policy, economic diplomacy and development efforts. The strategy acknowledges the systems and structures that can play a significant role in entrenching or exacerbating discriminatory practices. The Australian Government is committed to pursuing gender equality outcomes across the international agenda.
