Support for coordination efforts is provided by the PRIF Coordination Office (PCO), which is hosted by the Asian Development Bank’s Pacific Liaison Coordination Office in Sydney.
In addition to its primary coordination role, the PRIF Coordination Office has limited, dedicated resources to provide short-term technical assistance services in response to requests from Pacific Island Countries and PRIF partners, where these requests align with agreed PRIF work plan priorities.
The PCO strategic priorities and operational workplan is focused on three primary support services:
- Advisory services – technical assistance to Pacific island countries for sector planning, policy, regulatory and institutional reforms, capacity development, technical knowhow, activity development, and brokerage of investment activities.
- Knowledge hub – coordinate and communicate information on infrastructure activities in the Pacific and good practice via networking, analysis and database management.
- Coordinated assistance – supporting the PRIF partners in bringing together support from multiple development agencies to make assistance go further and make a bigger difference.
The PCO Director ensures the effective execution of the Work Plan. This is done in consultation with the PMC and other relevant stakeholders and includes identifying and agreeing priorities, determining the appropriate strategy, and organising the required resources. Another key responsibility concerns ensuring continuous feedback to Members through the PMC regarding progress on the implementation of the Plan and monitoring PRIF effectiveness.
